Microscopic surgery

Microscope helps to see better

Repositioning of the mental nerve before prosthetic(denture) treatment           £600

In old age, the bone resorbs and the mental nerve occupies a more superior position on the lower jaw bone. repositioning  procedure is done to releave  pain when a lower denture piches on the nerve.

Repositioning of the inferior dental nerve        £1500

Usually this procedure is done when performing reconstruction of the lower jaw. When needed the nerve can be re-positioned so that implants and other screws which are used in reconstructive surgery can be placed without damaging the nerve.

In most nerve related surgery, a transient parasthesia is expected due to inflamation. But the nerves do recover in time and there are no long term consequences.

Removal of a pathological lesion      £500

Microscope can be used to remove cysts, bone tumours and soft tissue growths. The extra vission enables the dental surgeon to remove all pathological tissue, at the same time ensuering safty of the vital structures like nerves and arteries.

Other procedures which may need magnification or microscopy will be discussed with the patient and a reasonable fee will be agreed.
